You will work with clients to collect information, gather documents, and prepare tax returns while learning the intricacies of "tax" and how to manage client engagements. Successful candidates will be analytical and meticulous with impeccable communication skills and a desire to learn. Prior tax experience is helpful but not mandatory. The right attitude is more important than experience. We can teach you to be a great tax accountant, but we can't teach you to be a good person; that's on you.Must be willing to earn EA or CPA credentials if you don't already have them. We believe that professional development is important. Successful candidates who are not already credentialed must be willing to sit for the Enrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant exams. Training allowance and study time will be provided. It won't be easy, but it will be worth it!Full-time position with a flexible schedule.We also believe that a work-life balance is important too. We work hard, and some days can be exhausting. But, we're also working parents and we know that flexibility is just as important as brushing your teeth. No clock watching 9-to-5, chained to your desk, making sure you're working by asking rhetorical questions on IM stuff here. You're a grown adult; we trust you to get your work done without us having to breathe down your neck.The office is in Falls Church, VA, but remote work is a possibility.You'll need to spend a week at the office initially, for orientation. And you'll also be expected to be in the office for part of tax season. (Single parents--don't let this discourage you from applying; we'll make it work!) Travel and lodging expenses will be provided. Other than those required office times, you can choose to work from home if you prefer.Starting salary is $45,000 - $75,000 DOE
