CUSTOMER SALES REPRESENTATIVE Laney Materials is a contractor based in Laurel, MD that provides services to residential, commercial, and industrial sites in Washington and Baltimore metropolitan area seeks a Full-Time Customer Sales Representative. The Customer Sales Representative will be responsible for helping to grow the business by assisting in selling construction materials and services by establishing and maintaining effective relationships with potential customers to ensure sales goals are met. RESPONSIBILITIES: Support sales and operational personnel while building strong business relationships with internal and external customers Ability to answer customer calls, general and schedule phone orders in a timely and professional manner while determining the correct product, quantity, and pricing. Ability to coordinate deliveries with customers, sales, quality control, operators, and other personnel as required regarding materials needed, customer requirements, and the plant and material availability Maintains knowledge of surrounding areas to assist drivers in locating specific job sites. Maintains a good customer relationship with follow-ups as required Assist in preparing reports on current sales, forecasts, and market trends to ensure the yard can effectively manage its business needs Provide input on issues relevant to customers, marketing initiatives, and sales assistance to ensure strong client relationships Assist in obtaining market information on existing competitors, including sand, gravel, crushed stone, in understanding their capabilities and offerings Other tasks assigned to meet business needs ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic Excellent customer service, public speaking, and presentation skills Ability to generate and schedule phone orders promptly Must be an effective communicator verbal and written Ability to enter data into companys software Ability to work in a high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines Ability to verify mathematical accuracy Demonstrates ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment Well organized, motivated, and possess strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as a part of a team Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check Obtain a valid drivers license with a clean driving record SALARY/HOURLY EXEMPTION: Full-Time, Exempt Position Salary based on knowledge, experience, and education WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to work in an office setting with some exposure to the outside. Ability to work extended hours as needed PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time Walk, bend, kneel, and twist Talk and hear The ability to operate a motor vehicle as needed The ability to use a computer keyboard Lift and move up to 50 pounds EDUCATION: High school or equivalent is required.
