Van Metre is seeking a Carpenter to join our Design+Build team!Van Metre Design+Build is a division of Van Metre Homes focusing on medium to large scale remodeling projects and custom home building in the Northern Virginia area. We are seeking a Carpenter who is well organized and experienced at running residential remodeling projects. This full-time position is a great opportunity for an ambitious lead carpenter looking to advance with an expanding company.Primary Responsibility: to execute profitable production activities (as assigned by the Production Manager and Lead Carpenter) in support of company goals.A successful candidate must be able to successfully manage all aspects of our client's remodeling construction project. We need a team player who puts customer service first, works well with others, and holds his or her work to Van Metre's high standards.Additional Responsibilities IncludeDemo, Framing, running interior and exterior trim, hanging doors, windows, and cabinet install, punch out clean up as needed.Reading and understanding plans and performing layoutsCarpenter to work with Lead carpenters and trade contractorsOrdering, receiving and checking material ordersCommunicating with customers courteously and directing their questions to the proper individualsQualificationsMinimum 5 years of previous experience as a residential carpenter Minimum 2 years of previous experience as a carpenter on residential projectsMust have reliable van/truck and tools Basic computer skillsVan Metre was just named one of the Top Workplaces in DC in for four consecutive years by the Washington Post!
