Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)The Senior Director of Compliance for OptumCare is responsible for all aspects of the compliance program for care delivery organizations and health plan delegated functions within an identified region. Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance and results through multiple layers of management and senior level professional staff. Director develops, translates, and executes strategies or functional/operational objectives for the region. Responsible for working with their team to resolve highly complex or unusual business problems that may affect care delivery organizations.If you live in the Central or Eastern time zone, you'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Establish, Implement and Drive Adherence to Compliance Programs Identify compliance contacts/stakeholders to drive compliance program implementation within the business Collaborate with applicable stakeholders to promote adherence to compliance programs among employees within their scope of influence Respond to reported compliance issues and facilitate corrective actions as necessary Collaborate with business partners to help develop and implement effective fraud and abuse detection and reporting programs Drive completion of required compliance training among applicable employee populationsFacilitate Compliance with Applicable Laws, Regulations, Mandates and Contracts Demonstrate understanding of the impact of applicable laws, regulations, mandates and contracts on business and operations, including both OptumCare / CDO specific and enterprise-wide implications Collaborate with applicable internal partners (eg, Legal) to help interpret and apply laws, regulations, and contracts appropriately within specific business settings Facilitate understanding of applicable laws, regulations, mandates, and contracts with specific audiences Knowledge of Business and Industry Processes, Policies and Procedures Expert knowledge of the healthcare industry, associated processes / procedures, structures, and functions, including applicable vendors and delegated functions Demonstrate knowledge of applicable risk management approaches, Compliance Program policiesIdentify and Analyze Compliance Issues and Manage Risk Communicate the potential impact of compliance issues and risks on our business, operations, and consumers to applicable stakeholders, including both OptumCare / CDO specific and enterprise-wide implicationsDocument, Communicate and Report Compliance Status and Issues Gather and maintain compliance-related data from applicable systems/databases for use in reporting/communications Develop and update compliance scorecards/reports, and communicate to applicable stakeholders (eg, Key Compliance Indicators)Provide Training and Consulting on Compliance Program Requirements and Risks Develop and/or deliver training on compliance issues and risks to applicable audiencesYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 10+ years of experience working in a health care compliance role Expert understanding of the requirements of an effective corporate compliance program Understanding of HIPAA and state privacy laws Solid project management experience and ability to handle multiple priorities Experience working in a large, highly matrixed organization, working with various business segment and/or stakeholders Expertise in assessment of complex problems and provision of the appropriate compliance solutions UnitedHealth Group requires all new hires and employees to report their COVID-19 vaccination status.UnitedHealth Group requires all new hires and employees to report their COVID-19 vaccination statusCareers with Optum.
