The Director of Lateral Partner Recruiting will oversee all recruiting activities for partner-level candidates firm-wide. The director will work closely with the Managing Partners and Chief Legal Talent Officer to align direction and goals with the firm's strategic plan. If you are a California resident applying for a position at McGuireWoods, our statement describes your rights and personal information the firm collects.+ Lead firm-wide programs and procedures for partner hiring+ Research and apply knowledge of the most current and effective talent acquisition mechanisms used in the legal industry to attract and retain top talent+ Direct and oversee all aspects of lateral partner recruiting, including the initial screening of candidates, identifying the appropriate interviewing panels, collecting and disseminating feedback, and ensuring that hiring decisions are made in a timely manner+ Develop detailed understanding of the firm's practice areas and strengths in order to develop plans to represent the firm to lateral candidates+ Initiate contact with prospective partner candidates and when appropriate remain the primary point of contact+ Initiate and maintain contact with attorney search firms+ Work with internal stakeholders to develop written business cases and integration plans for lateral partner candidate+ Prepare and analyze data to monitor lateral partner recruiting activity including applicant flow, selection, turnover, etc.+ Serve as a member of the firm's Lateral Partner Integration Committee+ Develop and control partner recruiting expenditures budget+ Proactively identify candidates via databases (eg, Leopard, LinkedIn) or industry contacts, news, etc.+ Bachelor's degree required, individuals with law degrees and experience as practicing attorneys are encouraged to apply+ 5 - 10 years of relevant professional experience, including leadership and management experience required+ Ability to travel at least 25% of the time+ Experience in the legal or professional services industry and/or experience recruiting senior level executives is preferred+ Ability to gain consensus, formulate strategy, set goals, and oversee execution in a timely and effective manner+ Dynamic and compelling leadership presence; excellent written and verbal communication+ Ability to effectively communicate the firm's strategic plan vision and key differentiating points to candidates and search firms+ Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders+ High degree of flexibility, objectivity, discretion, appropriate demeanor and professionalism is required+ Customer service oriented+ Technology skills to include applicant tracking systems and Microsoft applications+ Ability to understand and apply HR practices, policies and procedures as well as knowledge of EEO, employment and immigration lawsHave more questions?
