They report to Director of Finance / Controller and work closely with AR and AP accountants and management in other departments.ResponsibilitiesHandle full cycle general ledger accounting and month end close process for AAPA and PAF.Perform account and bank reconciliations.Review and approve A/P invoices for payment.Review and approve Aptify Orders, Payments, Scheduled Transactions, export data from Aptify into MS Dynamics SL monthly. Reconcile fixed assets, accounts receivables & payable, Investment and other balance sheet accounts.Oversee the GL, A/R, and A/P functions to fulfill objectives.Oversee the output and accuracy of the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger.Perform all month-end, and year-end closing activities. Prepare monthly AAPA and PAF Closing Schedules.Report directly to the Director of Finance/Controller and assist DOF/Controller with interim and year-end internal financial audit activities and the annual corporate audit, as well as the external audit closing and reporting at year-end.Ensure all accounting records, policies and procedures are processed and stored according to company practices.Provide administrative support as needed.QualificationsQualificationsAccounting software MS Dynamics SL.Aptify experience a plus.5- 7 years experience in a similar role required.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a deadline-driven environment.Must be driven to understand the complexities of the job and look for opportunities to make improvements in processes to achieve outstanding results.Proficient in or interest in learning financial accounting software Dynamics SL software and PN3 for Payables and Aptify.Proficient in or interest in learning Databasics expense software.Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Highly professional demeanor, and able to work successfully with a wide variety of staff and constituents including donors, board members, volunteers and professional consultants.High levels of integrity, trustworthiness, flexibility.Ability to work with minimal supervision.The American Academy of PAs is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, disability and any other classification protected by law.Due to considerations regarding COVID-19, AAPA has been operating remotely since March 2020 and plans to continue to have staff telework through the end of September, 2021.
