Responsibilities If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team in the Federal Major Crimes Section of the Criminal Division that is responsible for paralegal support and legal research for Federal cases. Typical work assignments will include: - Provides a variety of complex paralegal support assignments relating to prosecutions and grand jury investigations. - Participates in a variety of federal criminal cases including small frauds, small quantity drug offenses, firearms offenses, Hobbs Act robberies, bank robberies, threats, immigration offenses, child exploitation/pornography and human trafficking. - Drafts legal documentation for review and approval of attorney. - Maintains accountability and prepares list of exhibits being utilized during grand jury proceedings and trials. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To be qualified for the GS-11 Paralegal Specialist, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal Service; or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related; or a combination of specialized experience and education. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
