Requisition #: 400903 Location: 711 Rutland Ave, Baltimore, MD 21205 Shift: Full Time (40 hours) Day Shift: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Non-Exempt Position Summary: With guidance and direction, diagnose and troubleshoot basic network, device, and data communications problems, install and replace network hardware, software and cabling, diagnose basic problems, perform and verify basic switch configuration tasks. May participate and contribute in technical discussions that involve basic infrastructure enhancements. Under guidance, interface with customers to understand their needs and articulate those needs to others. This position is also responsible for the installation, maintenance, ongoing technical support and administration of the organizations videoconference network, audio visual and satellite TV systems. Education: High School Diploma/GED. Work Experience: Two years of related experience. Licensure/Certification: Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) preferred Knowledge/Skills: Must possess all requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities as posted in the supplemental section. Must demonstrate critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills. Ability to work on multiple priorities effectively. Ability to prioritize conflicting demands. Demonstrated track record of the ability to execute assigned project tasks within established schedule. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively in the service of users and colleagues in a positive manner. Writes and communicates clearly and concisely. Possesses sound documentation skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated track record of exemplary customer service skills. Basic understanding of data communication principles. Basic understanding of the OSI Model Basic familiarity with network troubleshooting techniques. Basic understanding of network traffic management concepts Basic understanding of DHCP and DNS services Demonstrated understanding of IP Addressing Demonstrated understanding of common operating systems (Windows, Linux, MAC, etc.) Ability to articulate and explain the function of network switching or how layer 2 technology functions. Crestron systems experience preferred.
