Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Director of Accounting Policy and SEC Reporting is responsible for most aspects of the financial and Securities and Exchange Commission reporting for the Company. The position will oversee technical accounting research related to new and proposed accounting standards. The Director also supports and assists with the implementation, maintenance and review of corporate policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for leading high-visibility process improvement initiatives, M purchase accounting, and supporting accounting daily activities. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert with proven expertise across a variety of business operations functions such as project control, financial reporting & analysis, and accounting.Key Responsibilities:Preparation, accurate reporting and filing of SEC periodic reports such as Forms 10-Q, 10-K and Annual Report.Ensures compliance with all SEC and FASB rules and regulations.Manages SEC filings related to XBRL reporting.Coordinates, directs, plans and executes the financial reporting component of the external audit.Lead all accounting research efforts. Analyzes, researches and concludes on new and proposed accounting, reporting and disclosure standards issued by the SEC, FASB and the AICPA.Prepare Accounting Technical Memorandums.Take a proactive role in identifying and delivering trainings to accounting and the broader organization.Liaison with finance department, internal and external legal counsel and external independent auditors.Other duties as assignedQualifications:Active CPA license requiredBachelor's degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience10+ years of experience in accounting/finance with increasing responsibilityPublic Accounting experience requiredDemonstrated technical accounting expertise, including purchase accountingDemonstrated application and/or implementation of new accounting pronouncementsAbility to successfully work both independently and collaboratively across functionsExposure to Government Contracting a plusSolid Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, charts, macros, etc.)Professional Skills:Strong and extensive knowledge of SEC Reporting and US GAAP.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Strong attention to detailAbility to stay knowledgeable about, research and reach well-reasoned conclusions on technical accounting issues.Sarbanes Oxley and internal controls experience.Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks.Facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines, create cohesive teams, and respond quickly to management requests.Proven ability to perform under pressure and stress and to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.Experience with financial and accounting reporting systems.Working at ICFWorking at ICF means applying a passion for meaningful work with intellectual rigor to help solve the leading issues of our day.
