Position Description Contracts Specialist Location MD- Fort Meade Job Code 7502 # of openings 2 Apply Now (https://phg.tbe.taleo.net/phg04/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=AKIMEKATECH=43=7502) The Alaka'ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a potential need for a Contracts Specialist to provide the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) with Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support out of Ft. Meade, MD. DUTIES INCLUDE: + Integrate tightly into a Government team working on a high-visibility, high-value Program. + Provide a suite of equipment that performs firewall functions, intrusion detection and prevention, enterprise management, virtual routing and forwarding (VRF), and a host of network security capabilities. + Quickly adapt to rapidly changing priorities, identify and help develop integration between various efforts. + Work with engineers to define the hardware, software, maintenance, shipping, and delivery required to support an approved architecture design. + Identify, document, and present both traditional and non-traditional approaches to acquiring the products in the most economical way for the Government. + Work is expected to be accomplished from a Ft Meade, MD Government location with potential infrequent local travel. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + Expert knowledge of DoD contracting procedures. + Firsthand operational experience in wide range of contracting methodologies (commercial acquisition procedures, competitive contracts, sole-source, simplified acquisitions, cost/price analysis, and negotiation). + Demonstrated knowledge and experience applying Federal and DoD Acquisition concepts, regulations, and statutes (eg, FAR, DFAR, acquisition directives, policies, and procedures). + Experience working with and advising program managers on high-value, high-visibility Programs on procurement policies, regulations, and procedures that result in cost savings for the Government. + Experience reviewing architectural products and working with engineering staff to develop BOM and contract for hardware and software for expedited delivery worldwide. + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with external contracting executives at all levels. + Ability to identify and develop decision paper on alternate contracting approaches to include traditional and non-traditional approaches. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + Strong problem-solving, analytic, and interpersonal skills. + Willingness and ability to work in a high-tempo, rapidly changing environment, and readiness to think "outside the box" to identify optimum contracting approaches. + Demonstrated knowledge and experience applying Federal and DoD Acquisition concepts, regulations, and statutes (eg, FAR, DFAR, acquisition directives, policies, and procedures). + Experience with major contract writing systems is highly desirable. + Experience in IT and hardware/software contracting is preferred. REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: + Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years DoD experience in Contracting. + A DAWIA Level 1 or 2 or 3 contracting certification or the equivalent Certified Professional Contract Manager or Certified Federal Contract Manager certification is desired.
