Executive Director/Vice President, Talent Solutions Headquarters, 1615 H Street, NW, Washington, District Of Columbia, United States of America Req #235 Thursday, June 24, 2021 POSITION OVERVIEW: Reports to the senior vice president of Talent Solutions as a strategic partner and supports the Chamber's HR function with a focus on engaging senior-level executives, overseeing compensation projects, and handling organizational development initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Direct and manage senior-level HR functions in accordance with the policies and practices of the Chamber and federal, state, and local laws. + Stay current on new policies, practices, and trends within the HR industry. + Partner with the senior vice president to develop and implement strategic plans and programs that promote employee success. + Create progressive and proactive organizational development and compensation strategies supporting employee retention and offer rewards for effective performance. + Research and write talking points, correspondence, and HR-related presentations. + Manage the Talent Solutions team in the absence of the senior vice president. + Maintain organizational policies and programs that adhere to legal and other compliance requirements. + Establish and maintain relationships throughout the organization, and effectively listen to and solve employee and management issues. + Provide technical advice and knowledge to others around the organization within the HR discipline. + Manage expenses and their impact on the overall budget and take appropriate steps to ensure that the department is operating within approved parameters. REQUIREMENTS : + Bachelor's degree and PHR/SPHR, or a master's in HR, and 15+ years' demonstrated experience in the areas of organizational development and compensation. + Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team and working with senior-level executives on complex organizational issues. + A consultative approach and advanced knowledge of HR functions, disciplines, and applicable laws. + Sound judgment and keen business acumen. + Ability to think strategically and manage the performance of others effectively. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Flexibility for occasional remote work and overnight travel.
