The Human Resources Generalist also provides support, assistance, and guidance to individuals with significant disabilities that will enable the individual to develop work skills and enhance their ability to communicate with customers in a workplace environment. This person will support the goals of the HR department by ensuring integrity, responsiveness and value-added services to all employees. The following is an overview of the essential duties and responsibilities:Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and contract requirements.Communicates with employees regarding policies and procedures while providing counsel to management to maintain a productive and positive work environment.Maintains integrity and confidentiality of highly sensitive human resource and management information records. Maintains employee data and processes changes such as terminations, transfers, promotions, etc. Responsible for working with managers to successfully onboard new employees by performing new hire check-ins at the site.Perform orientations, training, and support systems for onboarding new employees and supporting the transition of employees.Conducts routine visits to worksites in support of employee engagement and identify areas of improvement. Provide support to employees regarding benefits, compensation, and leave administration in a timely and professional manner, including troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise and support that is required.Work with the HR Director to drive policies and structural frameworks that will operationalize diversity, equity, and inclusion in identifying talent, hiring, and creating an employee life cycle that reflects the Organization's Mission and Vision.Performs other related duties as required or assigned for the effective operation of the department.Didlake, Inc. is a non-profit rehabilitation services organization. RequirementsEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:BA/BS degree in Human Resources Management or Business related field plus 2 years of HR experience or AA degree and 4 years of HR experience or a combination of education and experience to equal a BA/BS degree and 2 years experience.SHRM or other related professionally recognized certification preferred. Experience in a unionized environment helpful. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Willingness to work flexible and irregular hours, can include evenings.Strong organizational, planning and project management skills. Must be detail oriented, dependable, and reliable in completing assignments and communicating with internal and external customers.Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team. Knowledge of all company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable federal, state and local laws. Proficiency with general computer operation and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present data in an organized and approachable manner.Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.Ability to anticipate and meet rapidly changing customer and business needs by quickly refocusing and realigning strategic and operational direction. Ability to coach employees and management regarding complex and difficult issues.Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or law.
