One Common Unity is Looking for Interns and FellowsFor the Fall 2021 SemesterABOUT US:One Common Unity (OCU) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that breaks cycles of violence and builds compassionate, healthy communities through the transformative power of music, arts, and peace education. Our distinctive, holistic approach to youth development provides a strong foundation for disadvantaged youth in Washington, DC to succeed academically and professionally, reach their personal goals, and live healthy, productive lives. OCU emphasizes the importance of social-emotional learning, social justice, and artistic expression in changing communities for the better and empowers youth participants to take leadership roles in doing so.We are seeking Fall '21 (September-December) Interns and Fellows in the Development Team:The Development intern will focus on non-profit development, grant-writing and fundraising. This opportunity requires 15-20 hours per week and it is important (but not mandatory) that the fellow has had some experience in this chosen field of focus.The ideal candidate will also perform other duties as designed.This position reports to the Director of Development and the Development Associate.A cover letter must be included with your application.Hours vary per internship/fellowship, but we expect the Fall term to run from September through December, with the option to continue working with us over the Winter. One Common Unity is registered to provide academic credit through all major universities in Washington, DC Interns and fellows receive a stipend upon completion of the internship.* One Common Unity is currently working remotely following CDC and Washington, DC guidelines for Covid-19.
