As the Senior Finance Director, you will be a senior member of our finance team and will work closely with senior management in formulating short- and long- term financial planning in support of strategy execution. The candidate will have experience facilitating change management strategies in a growing and changing organization. This position's key functions include developing, analyzing and communicating business forecasts, formulation of annual budget, oversight of cash investments and fund investment selection, industry business and risk assessment; interpretation of enterprise valuation reports, presenting financial strategy and benchmark interpretation to internal management, audit committees, and board of directors. The Senior Finance Director will report directly to the CFO and supervise the finance staff. Specific duties of the position include: Prepares, analyzes and communicates corporate financial metrics and related industry benchmarksRecommends appropriate benchmarks for measuring the progress of key strategic initiativesEvaluates profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization as neededInterprets and analyzes corporate riskRecommends cash investment strategy, aligned with corporate strategy and capital requirementsCollaborates with department directors to prepare for critical business opportunitiesRecommends growth strategies, as well as identifying areas for improvementDesigns, manages, and controls organization's budgetPrepares forecast and scenario financial modelsTeam member in identifying acquisition targetsDetermines investment value of acquisitions and return on investment marginReviews and interprets annual enterprise value computationRecommends actionable and measurable KPIs that drive project/study performance to key stakeholders based on financial insightsSupport in identifying risks and opportunities so that the leadership team can make optimal decisionsCreate financial models and return on investment analyses to help guide prioritization of strategic projects and allocation of strategic and operational investment dollarsAnalyzes and recommends pricing strategies for work portfolio and productsMonitors fundamental economic, industrial, and corporate developments through the analysis of information obtained from financial publications and services, investment banking firms, government agencies, trade publications, and company sourcesPosition Requirements: To be considered for this high-profile opportunity within Mathematica, the ideal candidate will possess the following: Master's degree in Finance, business administration or Economics, CPA a plusThorough understanding of US GAAPTen years of relevant experience in a senior financial management roleStrong enterprise valuation understanding, CVA a plusExperience analyzing return on investments and making investment fund selection recommendations to investment/finance committeesExperience with instituting change management implementation strategy and process improvement initiativesExposure to global accounting issues - domestic and international accounting, reporting responsibilities, monitoring exchange rates, consolidation reportingExperience with government contracting and knowledge of FARKnowledge and experience with Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) is a plusProven experience working in a team environment producing financial reports that will then be the basis of PowerPoint slide presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
