Salary Range: $79,000 - $94,000 Cover Letter Required: Yes Closing Date: Monday October 04, 2021 Position Summary This is a critical time for policing and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) is at the forefront, working to engage communities and promote leading policing practices. The IACP seeks to hire a strong Accounting Manager that will assist the finance team in processing payroll, preparing tax filings, and processing the month and year-end financial close. This position will work closely with the Assistant Director of Finance and will supervise the accounting coordinator. Job Responsibilities: Collect and update payroll information and changes Process payroll and related taxes Register with different states for payroll and unemployment taxes Annual Tax Filings: Personal Property Taxes Sales and Use Taxes Other Business Taxes Review and analyze accounting reconciliations to include accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, and deferred revenue Enforce policies and procedures with respect to month-end accounting closing and reconciliations. Implement sign-off and accountability procedures for monthly preparation of IACP financial statements Assist in the administration of processes and procedures designed to incorporate the expanding international operations of IACP Assist in the preparation of all international tax returns and filing obligations Supervise Accounting Coordinator Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses Support the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and report preparation Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related area Certified Public Accountant designation required, with at least five years experience in accounting/finance. Advanced technical skills related to oversight of all aspects of accounting operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Minimum of four (4) years of staff and/or consultant supervisory experience; Experience managing comprehensive multi-year projects; Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; Ability to multi-task; must be organized and have attention to detail. Non-Profit experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience with one or more of the following: Nimble AMS, Tableau, BI360, Power BI, Sage Intacct, and other relevant business software Special Conditions: Travel will be requiredbased on position responsibilities Work Environment: The IACP offers a focused, team-oriented, learning environment grounded in open communications, professional development, and shared context. Primarily office environment, although light lifting, bending, and reaching may be required.
