Directly or indirectly, you'll have exposure to cutting-edge technology and groundbreaking medical research.Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, MD is seeking a Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist for the Cath Lab.Schedule: 40 hours per week 7:30am - 4pmRequirements: Responsible for assisting physicians with the performance of cardiology related procedures including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures: Left heart cath / right heart cath / PCI / IABP insertion / Pericardiocentesis / Swan-Ganz insertion / stress testing / nuclear stress testing /implantable LOOP recorder.Will function in multiple areas with the cardiology area such as Cath Lab/Stress Lab/Nuclear Stress Lab.Will function in a variety of roles such as radiology technologist/documenter/Stress Lab assistant/Nuclear Stress Lab assistant.Counsels patients on the radiographic aspects of the procedures to be performed. Prepares patients for procedures including the accurate placement of EKG electrodes for monitoring of cardiac rhythm using multiple modality equipment Utilizes sterile technique to prepare procedure trays, perform site preparation, drape patient, and organize instruments and supplies. Monitors patient vital signs during examination. Obtains images, archives specific images and manages back up of image date of radiology system. Qualifications: Requires completion of an AMA approved program in Radiolog ic Technology or equivalent, which normally is acquired in a two-year college or technical school program.Minimum 1 year Cath Lab experience. ARRT certified with current registration required.
