Program Assistant

The George Mason University Law & Economics Center (LEC), within the Antonin Scalia Law School, invites applications for a Program Assistant. About the Law & Economics Center (LEC):

The LEC of George Mason University's Antonin Scalia Law School is a national center for research and education that focuses on the timely and relevant economic analysis of legal and public policy issues.

Responsibilities:

The LEC seeks a self-motivated and detailed Program Assistant for the Henry G. Manne Program, Program on Economics & Privacy, and other programs as directed. The assistant will provide administrative support, including the recruiting and marketing of programs, program registrations and databases, program reporting, keeping event timelines and task lists, the maintenance of websites and creation of marketing materials, and the preparation of event materials. The assistant will also provide support with on-site program tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Event management experience;
  • Public policy or legal environment experience desirable.

  • Be committed to, and enthusiastic about, the mission and vision of the Law & Economics Center;
  • Be adaptable, flexible problem-solver;
  • Be able to work flexible hours and weekends as well as travel independently;
  • Have excellent organizational skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities effectively; results oriented;
  • Be highly self-motivated, detailed oriented, accuracy driven;
  • Have a professional demeanor with strong written and oral communication skills.
