Job Description
The Washington Post is seeking a reporter to join its Climate and Environment team to cover the federal government's efforts to deal with climate change.
We are looking for someone who has a sophisticated understanding of the interplay among key federal agencies -- including the Environmental Protection Agency; the Interior, Transportation, Energy and Agriculture departments; and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration -- as well as the private sector. The ideal candidate will be able to capture how government actions and inaction impact people's lives, as well as how they play politically.
This reporter will be expected to break news, while also writing authoritative stories that marry new developments with larger societal shifts that are shaping the globe's response to climate change. Strong writing skills are essential; an ability to tell stories in creative ways is a plus.
This position is based in our Washington newsroom. Once we resume normal operations, the position will not be eligible for remote work.
