Job Description

Arc XP is a cloud-based digital experience platform that helps enterprise companies, retail brands and media and entertainment organizations create and distribute content, drive digital commerce, and deliver powerful multichannel experiences. A division of The Washington Post, Arc XP has powered the digital transformation of customers across the globe, currently serving over 2,400 sites in more than 25 countries that reach nearly 2 billion unique visitors monthly.

As an increasing number of large digital publishers move their critical business processes to Arc XP, we are in need of experienced Product Leaders to help revolutionize the way we work with our customers and guide the next generation of Arc PS Product Owners in developing their skills.

The Product Owner is part of our Professional Services organization and will work closely with project teams within Professional Services as well as Account Management, Platform Engineering and Product Management organizations to onboard new customers onto Arc's SaaS digital experience platform.

What you'll do in this role:
  • Drive forward development of onboarding projects for new Arc clients by creating the product backlog for custom-developed websites and complex content migrations.
  • Lead multiple Arc onboarding scrum teams as the Product Owner, providing vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Work closely with client stakeholders - including journalists, developers, designers, advertising and analytics managers - to gather requirements, and decompose these requirements into user stories.
  • Lead weekly grooming sessions with the client throughout the project.
  • Work with the development teams to clarify stories and provide detail needed to estimate and execute on planned work.
  • Become a subject-matter expert on Arc products and best practices, in order to advise clients on how to take advantage of Arc's extensive suite of tools.
  • Lead demo and UAT sessions with the client to ensure the work performed by our team meets their expectations.
  • Work closely with the Technical Delivery Manager to ensure work is aligned with overall program delivery timeline.
  • Play an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals.
  • Work with Arc's Newsroom Integration Consultants in managing configuration of the Arc products being delivered to the client, and testing the installation.
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.
  • Gather website traffic analytics and feedback from the client to identify new opportunities and areas for enhancements.

The ideal candidate:
  • You've worked on large-scale web development projects, and have an understanding of how multiple workstreams come together to make the final product
  • You have experience with specialized themes of web integrations, like advertising, analytics, and SEO, or a drive to learn about them
  • You love to learn about new tools and systems, and become an expert in them
  • You enjoy working closely with development teams.
  • You have a sense of when to ask technical leads for input on ways to reduce development time, or negotiate scope.
  • You have worked with external clients before and love translating their needs into actions for your internal team to take.
  • You want to collaborate with a talented and supportive team focused on delivering high-quality websites to major organizations, and helping them take advantage of Arc's suite of products.

The Post strives to provide its readers with high-quality, trustworthy news and information while constantly innovating. That mission is best served by a diverse, multi-generational workforce with varied life experiences and perspectives. All cultures and backgrounds are welcomed.
