This position is working hand and hand with the DC Department of Health, surveying individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Evaluate compliance of Home and Community Based Waiver service provision, provider utilization of waiver services and provider compliance with waiver rules. Conduct interviews with individuals with intellectual and/o development disabilities (IDD ) and evaluate provider organizational outcome.

  • Essential Duties
  • Conduct detailed evaluation's of provider performance and the presence of person- centered support using applicable tools and guidelines.
  • Conduct interviews with individuals with I/ DD, family members, providers of service and /or direct service staff.
  • Review required documentation to evaluate supports and services and gather pertinent information regarding the quality of the person-centered service delivery system.
  • Make determinations based upon the information gathered from individual interviews and provider reviews in the manner that meets established proficiency standards.
  • Establish and maintain positive and respectful approach with individuals/family.
  • Use professional Judgment and discretion to determine when a report of abuse, neglect and/or exploitation is warranted or a referral to state staff is necessary to maintain the health and safety of individuals receiving services through the Medicaid Waiver program.
  • Takes immediate action in the case of abuse, neglect and /or exploitation by report directly to required officials and follows established protocols as a mandated reporter.
  • At least an AA degree, but preferably a BA

    A minimum of 3 years of experience, but preferably 4 or more years

    One of those years would need to be working with people with intellectual and /or developmental disabilities.

    The remaining years years could be work in the IDD field, or in the areas of quality, Medicaid reviews, human services system audits, or IDD accreditation's.

    The ability to work from home and in the field.

    The ability to conduct record reviews

    The ability to conduct face-to -face and virtual interviews of individual with IDD.
