Business Unit Description

AARP Programs drives relevance and impact through "state-of-the-art" programs and resources. Our audience-focused offerings facilitate "active" engagement and interaction with consumers, with a focus on multicultural and age 50-64 members. We also work with key influencers such as industry, partners, and local leaders.
Summary

Coordinate the planning and completion of educational experiences that help adults successfully navigate aging. This includes supporting key deliverables and project tracking during the development of online experiences, in-person programs, tele-town halls, and new solutions, often overlapping.
Responsibilities

1. Coordinates complex projects through completion, supporting the development and delivery of interactive, consumer-focused educational experiences across a variety of formats;

2. Actively participates in team projects, and independently manages special projects as assigned;

3. Partners with stakeholders to coordinate, create, and prioritize projects and resources;

4. Anticipates bottlenecks, manages escalation of needs, operates effectively in ambiguous situations, and makes tradeoffs to balance business wants and creative constraints;

5. Uses sound judgment in the assessment and analysis of internal and external factors impacting operations;

6. Delivers detailed planning materials, including lifecycle maps, project schedules (to include dependencies), and status reports;

7. Works collaboratively and provides counsel regarding solutions and/or options.

8. Develops project estimates, scopes, and/or charters.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree (preferred), demonstrated experience in project management, business administration, marketing, journalism, design or related field; at least 5 years of relevant experience in positions where coordination, networking, information sharing and/or marketing were central to the job. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, demonstrated ability to build, sustain and nurture strong, productive working relationships internally and externally.

Demonstrated expertise with Project Management oversight and execution.
