Responsibilities

As a Section Chief / Disability & Accessibility Program, you will:
  • Serve as the Bureau's disability expert and technical advisor on laws and regulations related to workforce accessibility and disability for sections 501, 504, and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, Privacy Act and Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA).
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership in the development, implementation, administration, and communication of the Disability and Accessibility programs.
  • Advise and communicate complex and technical information to Senior Leaders, managers, supervisors, and/or employees on disability-related policies, programs and initiatives including the advancement and retention of persons with disabilities; reasonable accommodations for applicants and staff; supervisory relations; mentorship, development, and inclusion programs; training; work-at-home options, and a wide range of disability-support programs, initiatives and policies.
  • Prepare and manage Agency budget projections for disability & accessibility program compliance services (including, for example, accommodations and Sections 504/508 of the Rehabilitation Act).

  • Qualifications

    Highly Desirable Skills:
    • Experience serving as an expert and technical advisor on laws and regulations related to human capital, workforce accessibility, or disability; OR
    • Experience advising Senior Leaders on workplace , disabilities or human capital policies and programs; AND
    • Experience preparing, managing, and submitting required annual reports on disability and accessibility activities, as required by Congress or other appropriate governmental entities.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • A one year probationary period may be required.
    • A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. .
    • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
    • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

    CURRENT FEDERAL EMPLOYEES - Documentation Relating to Your Federal Employment: If you are a current Consumer Financial Protection Bureau employee in a permanent, competitive service position you do not need to submit documents to confirm your status.
