Responsibilities
Serves as the Security Control Officer (SCO) at an assigned Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) by managing the security-related policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and controlling access to the site.
Major DutiesManages and oversees the SCIF operations, National Industrial Security Program (NISP), and National Security Information program policies and procedures to include but not limited to providing technical expertise on all matters related to Classified National Security information. Coordinates with the Security Investigations Service Center (SISC) to facilitate compliance with the National Security Clearance program and administers SCI program. Serves as the Point of Contact (POC) for assigned SCIF site to provide escorts, control SCI Facility access, and assign classified network access. Researches, analyses, and summarizes quantitative and/or qualitative National Security data; identifies trends, insights and opportunities for program improvements. Develops, composes, and presents reports, responses and guidelines regarding the National Security program. Serves as a liaison with organizational partners/customers, representatives of public and government organizations, law enforcement agencies, employees and management in matters related to the National Security program and other assigned areas. Coordinates overall physical security to ensure that all current and future SCIFs comply with the physical security standards outlined in Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705, all other applicable directives and established policies. Develops, evaluates, and reviews policies, programs, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with established standards and guidelines. Identifies inconsistencies and discrepancies; develops recommendations for corrective actions, and alternative approaches to streamline, refine, and improve existing policies, systems, and procedures. May travel as needed to conduct and attend trainings and briefings, as a national security classified courier, and to other SCIF sites. Serves as alternate communication security (COMSEC) custodian for assigned site(s).

Willingness to submit to a Tier 2 Moderate Background Investigation (MBI). This investigation requires, among other things, completion of a questionnaire and fingerprinting for a criminal records check. The investigation may require a drug test. The successful applicant will be required to meet and maintain the requirements of this level of background investigation while holding this position
Qualifications
Ability to monitor and evaluate programs for effectiveness and compliance with security policies and procedures. SPECIAL CONDITION: Willingness to travel as required. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Willingness to submit to a Tier 5 Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). This investigation requires, among other things, completion of a questionnaire and fingerprinting for a criminal records check. The investigation may require a drug test. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance while holding this position. Knowledge of National Security, physical security, and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) policies and procedures sufficient to manage and oversee national programs. Ability to communicate orally and in writing sufficient to respond to inquiries, prepare briefings, and provide updates and recommendations to executives. Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures related to the handling of classified information for both electronic and paper documents. Ability to monitor and evaluate programs sufficient to identify deficiencies, underlying problems, and develop recommendations for improvements.
