Sr Manager, Endpoint Security Engineering

Capital One is hiring a technical Cyber Security professional to lead the Endpoint Engineering team and work with the line of business stakeholders building endpoint solutions to meet cyber security needs, comply with regulatory requirements.

You will:
  • Drive Host and Endpoint program objectives, implement systems, define standards and policies to protect Capital One endpoints
  • Build secure system solutions to meet endpoint program requirements
  • Work with Endpoint product and architecture teams to influence/define product strategy, roadmaps
  • Assess, report on, and make recommendations regarding current and proposed architectures, strategies, and systems in the Endpoint space
  • Analyze business requirements and provide recommendations for building scalable systems to meet Capital One's functional and non-functional requirements
  • Build and operationalize systems to deploy, protect Capital One endpoints
  • Partnering with other internal IT teams to ensure solutions are built, deployed, and modified as necessary according to the projects needs and timelines
  • Create and maintain documentation related to endpoint solutions; this may include conceptual, logical, and physical diagrams; new environment design documents; write ups on technical capabilities and solution configurations; etc.
  • Lead the Endpoint Engineering team to deliver on day-to-day commitments.
    • Rehydrate ASVs
    • Patch systems to address vulnerabilities
    • Upgrade systems, release new agents to endpoints
    • Implement technical solutions to ensure platforms always run by building monitoring, testing solutions.
  • Provide project updates to leadership in various project meetings
  • Provide subject matter expertise to management, business areas, and IT Teams as well as implement appropriate security controls and monitoring
  • Participate in various audit, control testing and other processes


You should:
  • Have good people management skills
  • Have good written and oral communication skills
  • Be comfortable leading a team, prioritize the work and manage team's day to day operations
  • Have experience in deploying and operating cyber solutions to endpoints
  • Have demonstrated understanding of Endpoint protection fundamentals
  • Have experience working with large scale systems
  • Have familiarity with windows, mac, linux operating systems to ensure agents can be deployed at the right level to protect
  • Understand endpoint protect from both a managerial/strategic level and have experience in hands on technical design and implementation

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 6 years of experience in software engineering
  • At least 1 year experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • One or more cyber security related professional certifications
  • 3+ years of experience in CI/CD and DevOps pipelines
  • 3+ years of experience with Jenkins, Terraform, and Python
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS, Linux, Windows, and MacOs operating systems, Virtual Desktops (Citrix, VDI, Desktop as a Service)
  • 2+ years of experience in developing roadmaps and target architectures
  • 2+ years of experience in integrating applications with Snowflake, Kafka, SIEM tools and data warehouses to provide log data
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
