Principal Risk Associate, Third Party Management - Enterprise Services Risk

As a Principal Risk Associate in Capital One's Enterprise Services Risk team you will be responsible for working with Enterprise Services and other teams in both the first and second lines of defense to identify and consult on potential risks to Capital One, applying your risk analytical skills to help Enterprise Services continue to drive well-managed risk activities. This specific role, within the Third Party Risk Management program, supports the identification, management, and monitoring of third party risk for Enterprise Services. This role will work closely with Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM), Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), and ES Risk Guides to oversee third party risk across Enterprise Services.

The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and an interest in third party risk. The candidate will be detail-oriented and results focused, and will have a proven record of problem solving and collaborating with others.

Tasks and Responsibilities include:
  • Performs Third Party Management activities for the ES Risk Office based on 2nd line Third Party Management requirements and best practices
  • Collaborates effectively and builds successful relationships across multiple organizations including ES Risk, ESM, and TPRM
  • Partners with 1st and 2nd line to identify and implement third party management risk related initiatives to improve risk practices
  • Monitors and reports on third party risk metrics
  • Documents and supports third party related controls, risks, and issues


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • 2 years of risk management, compliance, legal, regulatory, or operations experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4 years of risk management, compliance, legal, regulatory, or operations experience
  • Experience with Third Party Risk Management
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills
  • Strong relationship building skills and customer focus
