The Mid-Level Electro-Optical Engineer shall provide expertise for imaging design and optical system analysis and optical data exploitation.

  • Manage and oversee contractor development of systems and software for all Electro-Optical related activities.
  • Operate prototype EO systems.
  • Design and operate all types of optical systems.
  • Provide recommendations on system parameter settings necessary to improve the performance of the system.
  • Prepare briefings, conference, and meeting reports for high-ranking government officials.
  • Provide image and signal processing for a wide variety of phenomenologist and experiments.
  • Provide objective evaluations of R&D sensors and algorithms.
  • Support in maintaining all infrastructure services to optimally perform their designed functions in an effort to decrease service downtime and increase mission success.
  • Support strategic goals of the project to meet the mission for designing, engineering, maintaining, modernizing, and documenting technical collection systems and programs.
  • Assist with the preparation of government CDRLs as requested by the Project Lead.
  • Complete daily time recording as required in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Complete annual trainings in accordance to company and contract policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree or higher is required.
  • 5-9 years of related work experience.
  • Experience in CONOPs development for operations and in managing and overseeing contractor development of systems and software is required.
  • Top secret clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to demonstrate strong proficiency working with EO systems in system development and acquisition programs.
  • Experience with operating prototype EO systems is preferred.
  • Ability to provide recommendations on system parameter settings necessary to improve the performance of the system is preferred.
  • Demonstrate experience characterizing all types of optical systems.
  • Deep level of experience in the collection of optical performance data from various phenomenologist using a wide variety of sensor platforms.
  • Must have leadership and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with time related constraints in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to self-start and work independently or as a team.
  • Ability to travel as required.
