Job Description:

The Office of English Learner Services is seeking staff to assist in the student registration process, on a temporary part-time basis, to support students registering for school who have a primary language other than English in the home. Registration support personnel assist parents and guardians in answering questions and helping to understand registration requirements, set up registration appointments, assist parents and guardians in filling out required registration forms, copy documents provided by families, complete pending files with documents provided by families to prepare them to be released to the schools, provide community resource information to families such as English classes, preschool information, clinic locations and hours, and other charitable organization information, restock materials in the EL Office and perform other duties as assigned.

Registration support personnel work with students and families and who have a language other than English, the EL Office registrars, assessors, and with the parent outreach coordinator and parent specialist in the Welcome Center of the Office of English Learner Services.

Experience:

Applicants should have experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse students, be culturally competent, familiar with English proficiency assessment, and bilingual. Participation in registration training will be required.

Clearances:
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test.

Public Health Compliance
  • Proof of COVID vaccination. Exemptions for religious/medical will be reviewed.
  • Must follow safety and health protocols.
