Responsibilities

As a Multifamily Representative - Senior Program Advisor, you will:
  • Advise and give guidance to the senior HUD management, including the Multifamily Deputy Assistant Secretary, the Assistant Secretary for Housing, and the Deputy Secretary on policy and programmatic modifications.
  • Initiate and prepare complex policy options and recommendations for statutory regulatory or program changes to improve the administration of Multifamily program development.
  • Conduct analytical studies of various issues related to housing counseling in order to evaluate the effectiveness of current national policies and procedures in meeting Office of Multifamily Housing and Departmental objectives.
  • Develop procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems.
  • Act in an advisor capacity on special projects that have significant impact on a departmental level and may act as a template for future similar initiatives across the federal government.

  • Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized Experience:
    For the GS-15, specialized experience is one year of experience at the GS-14 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

    - Applying analytical and evaluative methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of housing program operations; AND
    - Presenting operational improvements through detailed written analysis, of data, findings, and strategies to be used to meet housing program objectives.

    Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.

    Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
    For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.

    Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

    CURRENT AND FORMER EMPLOYEES -- Documentation Relating to Your Federal Employment:-
