Manager, Product Mgt. - CreditWise Data

Our CreditWise team, working as a startup within Capital One, is fully committed to helping individuals take back control of their financial well-being and has ambitious plans for testing new ideas and growing the platform. You will play a key role as Product Owner for the CreditWise data team ensuring our feature teams' short-term and long-term data needs are met. You will be able to join a collaborative and supportive team that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.

What you'll do:
  • Drive roadmap and delivery, to enable feature teams and business analysts access to accurate data
  • Work closely with data engineers to institute a sound technical architecture and functional data ecosystem
  • Be an action driven, creative innovator with a proven track record of delivering minimum viable products
  • A fantastic storyteller with the ability to translate technical problems into a compelling solution that can be understood by varying audiences
  • Leverage data to derive insights and drive business decisions
  • Work closely with a team of data engineers and business partners to identify customer experiences, technical gaps, and ensure operational needs align to shared priorities
  • Technologies your engineering team would be working with include our Streaming Data Platform, Spark, AWS (DynamoDB, S3, EMR), Snowflake, Databricks & Tableau
  • Prioritize work being delegated to the team while focusing on the best outcome for our customers


What you'll bring:
  • Strong understanding of technical architectures and data ecosystems
  • Ability to prioritize across different types of value dimensions
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity and are comfortable with ambiguity
  • Transformative leadership and ability to influence change outside of direct reporting structure
  • Excellent communication skills to navigate a matrixed organization, tell compelling stories with ease to senior executives, and inspire teams about things that should exist that don't yet
  • Ability to proactively identify impediments on the critical path and remove them
  • A structured problem-solving approach to help a team work through a wide range of issues


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 year of experience translating business strategy into digital products


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience managing products from inception to production
  • 2+ years of experience in platform management
  • 2+ years of experience in software development
  • 2+ years of experience in data technologies
  • 2+ years of experience in AWS
