Full-time, Monday - Friday (7am-3:30pm or 6:30am-3pm)

Occasional Sunday availability required from 7am-11am.

General Summary:

Will be responsible for screening pre-surgical patients and providing pre-op instructions and COVID testing. Prepares required documentation and must be proficient with computer functions. Cerner or Epic experience a plus. Must have strong customer service ability and excellent communication skills both oral and written.

With assistance, applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of non-complex and complex patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning for pre surgery patients. Effectively communicates pre-surgical fundamentals to patient and family.

Pre-surgical COVID testing demands. New technology introduced that will require additional assistance to keep up with demands of increasing surgery patients.

Minimum licensure/certification required (if applicable):

Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

BLS certified.

Additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

Demonstration of acceptable performance in administering medications according to Holy Cross Hospital's standards within the probationary period.

Basic computer skills to include data entry and retrieval.

Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English language.

Must have visual and auditory acuity.

Must have the ability to coordinate eyes and hands quickly and accurately.
