Senior Business Manager - Bank Operations

Summary:

As a Senior Manager, Business Analysis at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. This Sr. Business Manager will lead a team of business analysts on developing and driving impactful strategy and analytics to Retail and Direct Bank Operations where this role will have a direct impact on benefiting our business, our customers, and our associates.

Our Bank Operations Strategy and Analysis team is a critical force in building and driving impactful strategic initiatives and a roadmap for the Bank Ops organization. The talented Business Analysts within our team work with solid guiding principles to:
  • Improve the channel performance and customer experience
  • Improve Operations through analytical thought-process and data-backed recommendations
  • Be a leader of promoting analytical thinking across Bank Operations


Our work spans across multiple areas within the Bank and we are focused on:
  • Supporting Bank Operations leadership on developing strategy and defining imperatives to transform the back office in support of becoming a digital-first bank
  • Being a partner to our many business and operations areas and identifying/driving improvements across cost, quality, productivity, and risk
  • Identifying opportunities and/or drive change across the organization as a whole or across multiple lines of business
  • Driving strategy and analysis required for critical credit decisioning and risk governance for loss mitigation strategy and Credit Bureau reporting


We are seeking an action-oriented, proactive, compassionate leader for our team focused on leading operational strategy for Bank Ops. Core Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying highest leverage areas for analytical opportunities and business investment
  • Influencing Bank Operations leadership on developing strategy and defining imperatives for the broader Organization
  • Analytically advising impacts of how external catalysts will impact Operations processes, such as economic trends, 2x checking growth, and more, and identifying investment opportunities
  • Driving efficiency and productivity improvements to the back office while prioritizing business continuity and customer experience
  • Forecasting operational volumes and ensuring teams are staffed for success across the many unique and complex functions
  • Building metrics and measurement frameworks to capture customer experience, regulatory adherence, financial performance, and operational health of the business
  • Being an impactful People Leader to 3-4 business analysts, ranging from Associate to Manager level, supporting their career development and driving intent


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis
  • At least 2 years of experience in qualitative analysis
  • At least 1 year of experience in people management
  • At least 1 year of experience in project management



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis
  • 5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in people management
  • 2+ years of experience in product development
  • 2+ years of experience in financial modeling
  • 2+ years of experience in economic forecasting
  • 2+ years of experience in project management
