The Lourie Center seeks to hire an experienced Early Intervention Mental Health Specialist-who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

The Child Development Specialist (CDS) works with children ages birth to four with developmental delays and their families as part of the Montgomery County Infants & Toddlers Program (MCITP). The CDS provides family counseling and training to address the social emotional need of children utilizing a home-based family coaching model.

As the Early Intervention Mental Health Specialist, you will:
•Process referrals, administer family intakes, conduct developmental assessments.
•Provide family counseling and training to address the social- emotional needs of children utilizing a family coaching model.
•Educate families about MCITP services and obtain background information as needed for assessment report.
•Participate in eligibility and family assessments and assist in the development of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
•Administer social- emotional assessment tools, interpret results and write reports.
•Conduct clinical observations in homes, childcare centers and the community.
•Provide service coordination to families and collaborate with other professionals on multidisciplinary teams.
•Collaborate with community partners such as Child Welfare Services and Early Head Start regarding support for children and families.

Qualifications Include:
•Master's degree in social work, licensed counselor or related field.
•Minimum of two years' experience with children, preferably birth to four years old.
•Minimum MD licensure of LMSW, LCSW or LCPC preferred.
•Active American Heart Association BLS CPR card
•Solid understanding of family centered practice and family coaching model preferred.
