AEI is seeking two full-time research assistants to work with scholars in AEI's Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies division. One position will specialize in legal studies and the other in congressional and presidential studies.

Responsibilities include assisting with research, writing, and editing for blogs, papers, articles, op-eds, podcasts, book projects, and other media on American constitutionalism, law, history, and politics. This position is also responsible for helping to plan and execute conferences and events. Duties include short-term and long-term projects as well as providing administrative support.

Desired skills for this position include excellent organizational, research, and writing abilities; a keen eye for detail; and a demonstrated interest in American history, politics, institutions, and law. Experience with podcast production is desirable, but not required. Facility managing multiple projects at once is a must.

Legal Studies Focus: A background in independent research is useful, as is some familiarity with the Supreme Court, American legal history, and the modern legal system.

Congressional and Presidential Studies Focus: A background in independent research is useful, as is some familiarity with American political history and the modern legislative and executive branches.

Qualified applicants should send a resume, cover letter designating their interest in either or both positions, transcript(s), and 500-word writing sample on a topic in American history, politics, government, or law with their online application at www.aei.org/jobs .
