The primary function of the AVP of Card Services role is to provide leadership and direction to the Card Services Department. This role is also responsible for the planning, organizing and directing of credit and debit card efforts for the Credit Union to ensure all operations are in accordance with established policies and legal requirements.


  • Responsible for supervising a team of 10-12 professionals within the Card Services Department
  • Manage all vendor relationships for the Cards Department
  • Prepare and adhere to the department\u2019s annual budget
  • Conduct audits of activities and various department functions to ensure timely, accurate and complete processing of operational processes as well as compliance with regulations and internal guidelines
  • Optimize the performance and operational productivity of the Cards Department maximizing efficiencies and reducing costs
  • Meet with direct reports on a consistent basis to review standard quality of work
  • Responsible for the performance management function for the Card Services Department
  • Oversee all training and development for the Card Services staff
  • Maintain the documentation for all department policies and procedures
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations as it pertains to debit and credit cards
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)


  • High-school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor\u2019s degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in card services
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience
  • Experience directing a card services operation for a similar size organization, experience working in a financial institution is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Regulation E (Fraud Claim Adherence and Reporting), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) is required
  • Knowledge of VISA DPS highly desirable
