Job Summary:
Westat has an immediate opening for a program management support professional to join our health studies group to work with and support the work of a multidisciplinary team of researchers focused on prevention research and other related areas of public health.  This position is located at the client site in Rockville, Maryland. New employees will work remotely until it becomes safe to return to the office.   

Job responsibilities: 
Program Coordination: 
•    Support and perform a variety of coordination tasks to promote and facilitate activities
•    Coordinate recurring and ad hoc ODP Team meetings, including assisting with agenda development, preparation of pre- and post-meeting materials, tracking of action items and note-taking.
•    Plan and support in person and virtual meetings with external partners, and other events, requiring the coordination of multiple calendars and ability to respond to inquiries to address questions from a variety of stakeholders.   
Research Program Analysis: 
•    Support portfolio analyses and impact assessments of federal prevention research funding to assist in identifying trends, gaps and areas of opportunity. 
•    Undergo training on the client's taxonomy and protocol used to code and characterize prevention research and actively participate in the team's quality control process to ensure sufficient agreement with contract coders in accordance with standards. 
•    Apply prevention taxonomy and protocol to projects and funding opportunity announcements to populate and inform analyses and databases.
•    Provide support for literature reviews to examine the current state of prevention research and prepare clear and concise reports summarizing and synthesizing the body of work.
•    Prepare data tables, graphs and slides for reports and presentations.
Administrative Support:
•    Provide program support including development of standard operating procedures, and spreadsheet creation and management, literature searches, resource library creation, data mining, and documentation editing.  
•    Provide project management support including taking meeting notes, identification of action items, virtual meeting management using various platforms (Webex, zoom, etc.), and communication with staff across NIH, external stakeholders and the public, and various teams and individuals across NIH.
•    Develop and revise or modify PowerPoint slide presentations for use by senior staff. 
•    Coordinate with and serve as a back-up, as needed, to other program staff in the office. 

Basic Qualifications:
•    A Master's degree in public health or equivalent, epidemiology, or related health science and at least 1-2 year of relevant work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Strong writing and communications skills.
•    Strong organization and note-taking skills.
•    Strong information/data management skills (i.e. gathering data from various sources and collating into spreadsheets)
•    Experience setting up, supporting, and managing meetings on virtual platforms (WebEx, Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
•    Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as various project management platforms (such as MS Teams, Box, etc.)
•    Proficient in using online collaboration tools and calendar management tools
