Job Description

The associate producer will shoot and edit daily TikToks. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience producing creative and engaging TikToks, a passion for news and excellent media literacy. The successful candidate will work closely and urgently with the TikTok team to broaden our scope of coverage and increase the quantity of our content on the platform.

This associate producer will have experience pitching stories, writing and fact-checking scripts, shooting, and editing using the Adobe Suite products. We are looking for candidates with exceptional news judgment and a demonstrated history of writing or producing impactful journalism. The associate producer will be expected to add their personality and style to our channel within the look and feel that Dave has established, regularly appear on our channel, and produce TikToks from start to finish independently. The associate producer will also assist in the production of TikTok live events.

The associate producer will work closely with the wider video team to develop and execute ongoing growth strategies for the channel. They will help maintain editorial calendars and contribute to reporting, work across the newsroom to develop relationships with reporters and editors and partner with the analytics team to make data-informed decisions.

This position is based in our Washington newsroom. Once we resume normal operations, it will not be eligible for remote work.
