The Compensation and Benefit Specialist will provide day-to-day Compensation and Benefit administration and consultation service to employees on
compensation/benefits issues/requests. Will support Sr. Comp and Benefit Consultant in the implementation of designated compensation and benefit programs/projects. Will monitor compensation and benefit federal and local compliance and other regulatory matters and recommend policy or procedure updates.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Human Resource Management or a related field (Required)
Master's Degree (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience
3 years Relevant experience; 1 year with Master's (Required)

Functional Accountabilities
Consulting
  • Assist Sr. Comp & Benefit Consultant with market analysis and internal salary reviews to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.


  • Generate Wage Theft letters.
  • Support union negotiation by collecting data and analyzing salary trend.
  • Track employee eligibility for benefits following job or status changes.
  • In conjunction with Sr . Comp & Benefits Consultant, perform quarterly audits on premium deductions.
  • Manage vendor funding requirements & premium payments for benefit plans.
  • Administer Educational Assistance requests.
  • Administer Smart Benefits Program.
  • Be liaison with third party leave administrator.
  • Coordinate the Annual Health Fair.

HR Shared Services Call Center Support

  • Answer calls timely , with good customer focus and with the goal to resolve 90% of the inquiries on first contact.


  • Identify employee's questions and requests by working with customers.
  • Answer inquiries by clarifying desired information; research, locate, and provide information.
  • Resolve problems by clarifying issues; research and explore answers and alternative solutions; escalate unresolved problems to supervisor.

Programs & Projects
  • Support designated compensation and benefit programs/projects such as annual performance management and merit increases, annual incentive payout, special market adjustments, annual open enrollment; health fair , ACA reporting.


  • Monitor project progress and provide status updates to the compensation and benefits team.
  • Work with the Director of Compensation & Benefits to implement compensation program communication and training activities for projects and initiatives and work with third-party vendors to ensure timely and accurate implementation and communication of new programs.
  • Assist to coordinate communication of compensation and benefit programs to employees including new hires, annual enrollment, and changes to plans as applicable.
  • Administer benefit plans to include coordination of all associated data with external vendors.
  • Assist with Vendor RFP or transition processes; ad hoc changes.

Tools & Resource Administration
  • Serve as a resource for JDXpert and Cornerstone with regard to data updates, user assistance and vendor liaison.


  • Administer updates to the compensation manual, including but not limited to salary ranges, hiring guidelines, compensation forms, job code tables, process documents, etc.
  • Assist with data collection for compliance filings, and assist with department audits.

Federal Compliance
  • Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory matters and ensure Compensation and Benefits Department's policies, practices and procedures are compliant.


  • Keep abreast of new legal changes to assure plans are compliant and communications to employees are timely.
  • Provide ongoing process and audit reviews; serve as peer review lead to insure compliant fiscal safeguards.
