The Advancement Services Data Analytics Projector Manager will report to the Director, Development Services & Data Systems and is responsible to ensure the optimal functionality and usage of the Foundation's online constituent database, Convio for the prospect and donor database, Raiser's Edge, for fundraising purposes. This position will service all fundraising efforts across the Foundation by analyzing data and managing projects for fundraising purposes i.e. to determine best strategies, segmentation, applications, approaches. S/he will partner with philanthropic communications, operations and fundraising staff to develop and implement data solutions. This position will require a combination of fundraising, technical, and project management expertise. S/he will manage projects for the day to day operations of both the online and offline systems. S/he is also responsible to facilitate data cohesiveness with all data systems to include Convio, Raisers Edge, iModules and Donor Drive to ensure effective fundraising initiatives and practices, as well as efficient and accurate receipting of donor gifts to meet IRS regulations. This position will partner with the Director to complete the CORE (Creating Optimal Records Everywhere) Campaign, the Foundation's multi-year centralized project to ensure data integrity and donor analytics in all donor databases. This position also will support the use of all data tools that support fundraising efforts, plus the tools that the donors/users experience to make gifts.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Data Systems and Services or other related field (Required)

Master's Degree - Information systems or related field (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience
5 years - 5 - 7 years of progressive related experience (Required)

5 years - Experience with Raisers Edge and working in a fundraising environment (Required)

3 years - Project management experience (Required)

Experience with Convio (Preferred)

5 years - Web development/design using Classic ASP/ASP .net, Java scripting. Advanced knowledge of HTML and experience with popular content management systems (Convio, Donor Drive, etc,) ASP .net server side scripting. Microsoft SQL Server . (Required)

Experience working with API's. Experience with REGEX (Regular Expressions), Import-o-Matic/Data Manipulation tools, SQL Reporting, Data Visualization tools (such as LogiXML, Tableau, or Business Intelligence) (Preferred)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Strong understanding of fundraising strategies and performance metrics.
Ability to multi-task and work in a high volume environment.

Functional Accountabilities

Develop and Implement Data Coding and Analytics
1. Develop appropriate data composition that will produce effective tracking and reporting systems that enable informed fundraising decisions based on donor analytics; execute daily donor data analytics and reporting requests.
2. Partner with fundraisers to make decisions and pull data for all fundraising initiatives.
3. Partner with stewardship and communications to make decisions and pull data to acknowledge gifts and provide impact communication and reports.
4. Proactively assist users to determine more efficient ways to obtain and use Foundation Raiser 's Edge data.
5. Use data analytics to help determine best fundraising strategies for different areas of fundraising-direct response, e-phillanthropy , annual leadership giving, major gifts, principal gifts, corporate gifts, etcetera.
6. Work with Philanthropic Communications and Lead Staff to determine layout and build of sites bringing expertise of data needs at both the front and back ends; execute the build of sites as assigned by Director .

Project Management
1. Meet regularly with internal customers to discuss ongoing needs and strategies; play a key role in internal web-based projects;
2. Oversee the functionality and requirements of select, key projects (from user to reporting); as determined by Director, research new tools, platforms and devices (apps, mobile payment portals, online auction software, etcetera) to maximize fundraising efforts without compromising data integrity and financial reconciliation.
3. Manage and build on the existing online database structure.
4. Manage external vendors contracted for specific projects.
5. Collaborate with operations and fundraising staff in developing modules in RE such as enhanced planned giving fundraising module.
6. In coordination with Foundation web strategist, play a key role in supporting online fundraising initiatives, specifically creating and maintaining groups, lists, forms, surveys, TeamRaiser Pages, Personal Fundraising Pages, donation forms, and other services as decided (all again for the purpose of data in and out that will help achieve fundraising success).

Operations
1. Support capacity planning and lean management through the tracking of requests made of Development Systems & Data Services, fulfillment of requests, and metrics on efficiency .
2. Facilitate onboarding of new employees through set-up, training, and support as needed, in compliance with the Foundation's Security Policies.
3. Track and project expenses, in support of the Director of Development Systems & Data Services.
4. Oversee & delegate fulfillment of tasks and requests by other members of Development Systems & Data Services team, as required by the Director.
5. Train employees on use of the online or offline tools.
6. Create all the documentation (including site functionality and design specifics).

Technical Standards
1. Maintain technical standards with regards to web development as it relates to forms and gathering data.
2. Help business understand what the technical requirements and/or issues may be.
3. Keep current with emerging technologies.
4. Lead the development of Raisers Edge policies and procedures.
5. Develop data quality program to measure and monitor data integrity.
6. May act as liaison to Children's National IT staff to schedule and maintain backups, updates and patches as needed to ensure donor data is secure.
