COVID-19 continues to significantly impact our employees, families and communities. As a federal contractor, DCS is required to comply with Executive Order 14042 and the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force Guidance requiring contractor personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Effective December 8, 2021, DCS will require all newly hired employees to be fully vaccinated before their start date unless they are entitled to a legal accommodation.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide strategic communication planning, stakeholder engagement, internal communication, and branding.

Manage strategic communication planning objectives to evolve innovative strategic communication approaches based on government needs/mission.

Implement strategic communication initiatives.

Identify and develop articles and other communication pieces that tell the organization's story.

Employ social media tactics, including Facebook, Twitter, and Linked In, to reach the organization's target online audiences.

Provide metrics on social media and website statistics to gauge audience and message reach.

Staff communication products for appropriate technical and management approval for public release.

Maintain a library of briefings, presentation, graphics, etc. within an integrated digital environment (e.g. SharePoint).

Develop talking points, programmatic briefings, and informational marketing media to update external stakeholders.

Manage, modify, update, and troubleshoot structure, content and access to website and social media.

Assist with development of Staff Social Media Policies and Guidelines.

Cultivate relationships with Subject Matter Experts, interagency public affairs personnel, media representatives, and senior leadership.

Work with PEO resources (Creative Sciences) to develop graphic designs and establish "Brand".

Provide technical editing support to acquisition and other programmatic documentation.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must have an active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain.

Bachelors and 12, Associates and 14 or High School and 20 years of experience.

Must have excellent oral presentation skills.

Must have excellent written skills.

Must be able to demonstrate experience managing strategic communication deliverables: web site content, brochures, publications, newsletters, or other communication pieces.

Desired Skills:

Experience supporting senior-level government officials and DoD acquisition education-based programs or organizations desired.

Bachelor's Degree in associated subject area (marketing, management, journalism, English, strategic communication, etc.) with 5-8 years of experience as a Strategic Communications Specialist, Public Affairs Officer, Technical Editor, or similar experience within DoD Acquisition Program Office.
