Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a part time Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) for work based out of the Washington, DC area. Westat currently supports several central cancer registry operations and is looking for a candidate familiar with case-finding, quality reviews, consolidation, and data management.  In this position, you will work a minimum of 20 hours per week. 

Job Responsibilities:
•    Participation in and performance of quality control activities.
•    Abstraction and oncology coding of cancer cases.
•    Visual review and editing as well as records consolidation.
•    Case finding and re-abstracting field audits.
•    Preparation and maintenance of procedures manuals to meet pertinent state and federal cancer reporting requirements.
•    Conduction of and/or participation in educational training activities in support of multiple cancer-related projects.

Basic Qualifications:
•    A bachelor's degree, preferably in public health or health science related field with CTR certification is required.
•    At least 3 years of oncology coding/abstracting experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications: 
•    A master's degree in public health or health science related field.
•    Familiarity with NPCR and NAACCR guidelines for cancer reporting.
•    Experience in central cancer registry operations and state and national submission of cases.
•    Experience with hospital operations. 
•    Experience with data analysis.
