Responsibilities
Supervises and manages the aquatic programs with direction from the Director of Fitness and Athletics. Plans and administers a wide range of fairly typical, conventional and well-established basic aquatic activities. Plans and coordinates details for reoccurring and nonrecurring aquatic, fitness, instructional and joint community programs. Plans and establishes aquatic certification curriculum to include life guarding, lifeguard instructor, water safety instructor, water fitness instructor and other safety, fitness and recreational certification and educational programming.Coordinates with the MWR marketing department to publicize aquatic events, and continuously evaluates the effectiveness of aquatic programs.
Develops program objectives from the standpoint of participant response and resources. Adapts and varies the aquatic program in light of findings. Responsible for APF and NAF budget for the assigned facilities and programs. Review budget execution reports with the Director of Fitness and Athletics to ensure desired execution rate is met. Prepares annual, quarterly and monthly budget input including UFR updates and request for special funding.

Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, administering and executing aquatic programs. This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor recreational or competitive aquatic programs and facilities.
Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level.
Posession of the following certificates is a requirement:
- Current certification in Lifeguard Instructor
- Current First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent
- Current Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Pool Operator certification
- Current Certification in Water Safety Instructor
In addition, for facilities that use Automated External Defibrillator "AED's" and Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the following certificate must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty:- AED and O2 Administration

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- This is a Summer Hire position with an Intermittent - Flexible (0-40 hours per week) work schedule from 25 May 2021 to 17 September 2021
- All certifications must be kept current.
