To support these strategic initiatives, the School of Business is playing a significant role in three new university initiatives: the Institute for Digital InnovAtion (IDIA); the Institute for a Sustainable Earth (ISE); and the School of Computing.

About the Position: The Instructor would be responsible for performing teaching or teaching-related duties to assist faculty member for MGMT 303: Principles of Management. Qualified individuals must be willing to teach in-person on the Fairfax campus or on-line.

Responsibilities: * Assist faculty member with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, and other miscellaneous projects; * Tutor or mentor students; * Deliver and teach undergraduate recitations either online or face to face; * Obtain materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials; * Prepare presentations for recitations; * Hand out assignments and grade papers; * Proctor examinations; * Record grades and inform students of their final grades; * Meet with students during office hours; * Help professors and teachers develop course plans; * Lead discussion sections; * Correspond with students on Blackboard or related inter-campus communication system; * Take attendance and record responses; * A typical requirement might mean an average of 5-10 hours per week per semester. The instructor is responsible for recitation sections (35-40 students/section - meets 1hr and 15 mins/week). The following is a breakdown for one recitation for the week: ** 2.5 hours contact (with students in class) ** 1 hour instructor meeting (2-3 times per semester) ** 2 hours prep time (class preparation, grading, etc.)

Required Qualifications: * Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft applications; * Disciplined to complete all assignments by deadlines given with accurate details; * Reliable to work all hours as scheduled; * Students with a Masters or Doctorate in management related field will be highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications: * A Ph.D. or Doctorate in Business; * Prior teaching experience.
