Summary

As a Supervisory Financial Systems Manager at the GS-0501-15, you will be part of CFO's Financial Strategy and Operations team within the Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for overseeing the work of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OFCO) staff that are involved in providing oversight and strategic direction in the development, implementation and maintenance of the agency's financial systems and shared service operation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the principal supervisor for OCFO financial systems and shared services.
  • Advise the CFO and Deputy CFO/Associate CFO for Financial Strategy and Operations on the best strategies for administering OCFO systems and shared services.
  • Accountable to meeting or exceeding service level agreements and metrics while continuing optimum and effective business operations.
  • Oversee all financial management shared services technology initiatives, IT changes and project updates while developing people and processes that supports OPM's mission and core values.
  • Build, develop, and improve operations, processes, and internal controls in shared services to support strategic direction.

Qualifications

This announcement is open to current Career or Career-Conditional OPM employees.

For the GS15: You must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing ALL of the following: 1) Advising Management on strategies to manage financial systems operations; 2) Conducting legislative and policy research for impact to program processes and objectives; 3) Designing and developing administrative financial systems, consistent with OPM standards and policies; 4) Identifying and developing ways to resolve problems or issues affecting administrative financial systems.

Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS 15 level.

You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Relocation expenses will not be paid. Current OPM employees may qualify as an exception.
