Title: Sales Support Analyst: Tax-Exempt debt and Public Welfare InvestmentsLocation: M&T FootprintOverview:Tax-exempt Debt Overview:A' A' Support M&T Bank's tax-exempt debt portfolio across the Commercial bank, including Healthcare, Education & Not-for-Profit, Commercial Real Estate, and Government Banking. This position will support the Commercial Bank Relationship Manager A' in the following areas: (i) origination of new tax-exempt debt; (ii) closing of new tax-exempt debt; (iii) preparing required analyses for modifications or terminations; and (iv) product-specific regulatory requirements, and (v)general portfolio management relative to the tax-exempt nature of the portfolio.A' This position will also Support the M&T Bank's Public Welfare Investment activities specifically relating to NMTC, EQ2 Investment, RBIC and Community Development Loan Pools. This position will support the Community Development Loan and Investment RMs in the following areas: (i) originations of new investments; (ii) closing of new investments; (iii) confirming distributions; preparing associated capital call approval memos; and (iv) regulatory requirements.A' Primary Responsibilities:Tax-Exempt DebtSupport Relationship Manager with financial analysis, sales presentation and client materials related to the issuance of tax-exempt debt.A' Also support credit analysis and approvals process.Interface with Commercial Planning relative to having profitability models run on proposed structures; andAid RM by preparing any required amortization tables and final weighted average maturity;Review legal documents as requested, relative to amortization or pricing structure;Monitor monthly levels of outstandings and pipeline versus available capital in the Bank equity subsidiary (233 Genesee St.);Support other regulatory, or credit analysis as requested. Keep abreast of business and market trends that may affect the business/department.Contribute to Commercial Bank strategic direction by assisting in analysis designed to further Commercial Bank strategies as directed by managers.Public Welfare InvestmentsCompiling and analyzing appropriate due diligence materials (eg, market studies, projections, investment summaries, economic benefit schedules, sponsor financial statements) and approval memo's for proposed Community Development InvestmentsSupport the documentation of Investments A' with legal counsel;Support process of closing, funding and booking Loans and Investments.Work with both Tax Credit Operations Manager and external legal counsel in the preparation of regulatory applications to both the Federal Reserve Bank of NY and NY Department of Financial Services.Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities:Not applicable.Education and Experience Required:Bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years' related business line experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years' higher education and/or work experienceGood knowledge of procedures and concepts within own discipline #LI-LP1LocationBaltimore, Maryland, United States of America
