The Controller position is located in Hanover, Maryland and is on a long-term contract / temporary basis. If you can manage the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verify and hold the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively, you might be right for this Controller position.Responsibilities- Ongoing review of actual spend against budget and direct necessary actions needed for any expected shortfalls- Attain awareness of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners- Acquire a thorough understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners- Comparison of evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs to support SOX controls- Review and monitor that controls are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance- Collaborate with various business partners for a variety of program controllership and FP& A activities such as upholding accurate accrual models and appropriate accounting, as well as true-up activities. Also answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers- Collaborate with the Treasury to deliver cash flow forecasts in a timely manner- Lead budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes and tools for the accountable programsJob Requirements:- Capacity to assess process and internal control weaknesses and identify improvements- Advanced knowledge in office and accounting computer systems- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field - CPA and/or CMA preferred- Comprehension of ERP system offerings is preferred- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with experience in establishing trusted advisor/consultant relationships and proven ability to influence Executives and Business Decision Makers- Top notch analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills- Professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance- Experience engaging with teams and providing leadership across finance teams- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel- Solid understanding of Sage 50- Proficiency in Prepare Budgets- Profit Loss experienceRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
