Senior Vice President, GovernmentA Senior Vice President, Government (SVP) is responsible for strategic growth by developing targeted client relationships and landing pursuits in accordance with the Government market sector Business Plan. The SVP shall function as the 'market sector leader' in terms of their participation on HITT's Operations Executive Committee and is responsible for leading and developing the entire Government team, as well as delivering profitable and timely construction projects. The SVP shall contribute at the corporate level for both general ideation (leading to efficiencies / betterment) and process compliance. Responsibilities Develop and execute Government specific Business Development Plan; Consistently review progress with Government Senior Leadership Team; Goal to increase revenue and maintain profitability over 4%; Requirement to exceed minimum target efficiencyLead internal Government 'all hands' team meetings, senior leadership meetings and contribute to corporate meetings including the Business Review, Operations Executive Committee and Friday Flash.Holistic management of the construction life cycle; from pursuit phase to project closeoutLeverage Government Subject Matter Expertise by offering to clients in-depth process driven content (for example advise on jobsite logistics and how this can benefit them at early planning stages or how alterations can be made to achieve the client's budgetary goals)Facilitate opportunities for the Government Sector to enhance and leverage HITT's presence in the marketplace including industry awards, speaking engagements on panels, social media posts, attendance at industry association events, publications, etc.Lead the pursuit and interview submission process for new work including development of the win strategy and team interview preparation; specific emphasis on understanding the individual clients needs and concernsTeam development; recruit and onboard team members, ensure team members have development plans in place to continue their growth, lead the promotion and performance review process for the teamWill be required to collaborate closely with senior-level Operations team members across the companyThis position directly supervises Operations roles such as Vice Presidents, Project Executives and other members of team Government, including sponsoring Site Operations team membersWill be required to lead presentation efforts to prospective clients and attend industry related networking eventsWill be required to monitor the Government industry (clients, design community and consultancies) for trends that may affect construction costs, efficiencies and/or qualityThis position is responsible for contract execution and financial managementQualifications At least 15 years of experience in the Government construction business with subject matter expertiseFour-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferredIn lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptableSoftware proficiency and ability to adopt sector/project-specific software systems such as: Microsoft Office suite, Procore, scheduling tools (ie, Microsoft Project, SureTrak, Primavera 6, etc.), Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Bluebeam, and JD EdwardsOSHA 30-hour certification requiredSkilled in business communications such as writing and verbal presentationHas a proven track record of successful project completions, high client satisfaction and solid profit earningsHas experience leading others and has recruited and coached team members to successAnalytical and critical thinking - be able to gather data, interpret it into meaningful information, and relay that information through clear, concise communication strategies; able to see how pieces and processes fit into and affect the bigger picture/business modelFinancial - Reviews construction budgets/bids for accuracy; reviews financial reports and takes action where required to achieve desired profitabilityRisk analysis - able to assess potential opportunities with an eye towards identifying and bringing forward issues that may put the firm at undue risk.Positive attitude and passion for construction and our industrySelf-motivated and proactive - takes initiative and seeks responsibilityEngaged in the broader HITT CommunityIntegrity - behaves consistently with The HITT WayTeamwork and collaboration - is able to work collaboratively with people of various backgrounds and stylesProblem solver and decisive decision-makerCustomer service oriented, committed to going above and beyond the "normal" call of dutyClient relationships - able to sustain existing client relationships and develop new client relationshipsHITT Contracting, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
