We are hiring a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) Cost Recovery Team Lead to join Hagerty to lead our work associated with COVID-19 cost recovery. Where is this job located? We have several openings throughout the country, so those outside of Maryland are encouraged to apply. The ability to travel is not required for this position. What you would do: As a FEMA PA Team Lead you will manage delivery of major cost recovery projects. This role will lead and support a variety of financial cost recovery projects and initiatives as well as the tactical implementation of that work, including (but not limited to): overseeing staff, project formulation, grant management, and client relationship management. The FEMA PA Team Lead will advise clients in alternative funding sources for disaster recovery. You will build, grow, and manage a high-performing team of varying skill sets and years of experience, serving as a leader and mentor to other consultants. As a Team Lead, you will collaborate with executive leadership and work alongside government employees and contractors in a wide range of roles and responsibilities. The Team Lead will also ensure high levels of client satisfaction, quality assurance, and troubleshooting for key issues or concerns. In this role, candidates must have: * More than two (2) years of experience in FEMA PA with an understanding of policy and eligibility. * More than two (2) years of experience in a leadership role, including oversight of (at a minimum) a small team of three (3) professionals. * The ability to facilitate effective outcomes amongst varied stakeholders on a variety of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery topics. * Excellent writing skills and the ability to create a coherent narrative with recommended courses of action. * Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. * The ability to work in a fast-paced, high productivity environment. * Strong proficiency with MS Office products, databases, and other software / technology platforms. * Prior responsibility for maintaining a relationship with a government client. * An applied understanding of FEMAs New PA Delivery Model. * Extensive knowledge of the FEMA grants management portal. * A collaborative style with an appreciation of a multidisciplinary team approach. * A bachelors degree or years of equivalent relevant experience. Candidates might also have: * A prior focus in FEMA PA Category B. * A masters degree pertinent to emergency management, accounting, finance, engineering, public administration, business administration, or similar field.
