The Inmarsat Government Products Team is focused on developing and delivering the next generation of satellite communication products for our users. Our team develops advanced products for Inmarsat's Ka-band and L-Band satellite networks. Primary Purpose of the Role: The Sr. Electronic Hardware Engineer plays a key role developing new SATCOM terminals, new MODEMs, and integrating our products into mobile platforms. In this role, the candidate will work with our engineering teams and suppliers to design and deliver new products to operate on Inmarsat satellite networks. Key Responsibilities: Develop system and component level technical requirements Work with suppliers and manufacturers to deliver specified SATCOM related parts or systems Create engineering drawings, models, and documentation of electrical components and systems Work with partner companies to develop engineering prototypes of electrical components and systems Provide engineering expertise on the repeatability, quality, and ultimate product performance of production processes Develop and execute test plans for component testing and for end-to-end system testing Develop test bench and specialized test tools Manage projects towards on time and on budget delivery Essential Knowledge and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline. 10 years of engineering experience in SATCOM, aerospace, or telecommunications industry Experience with CAD and engineering of electronics packaging or printed circuit boards Knowledge of how PCBs are produced and a current understanding of design and manufacturability challenges Familiarity with electronic parts and their specs, including high reliability parts for operation in harsh environments Experience with high frequency RF, digital, power, and analog test systems Excellent communications skills with the ability to convey concepts verbally, in writing, and in power point style presentations Experience leading projects and managing project stakeholders Desirable knowledge and skills: Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline Design experience for avionics equipment, understanding of ARINC standards and meeting DO-160 qualification Knowledge of Antenna theory and design Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing Experience with SATCOM terminal integration Experience developing project business cases Ability to achieve DOD Secret or Top-Secret clearance Inmarsat Government is an Equal Opportunity Employer Travel: 10%
