DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INTERVENTION SPECIALIST
(Victim Witness Specialist I)
GRANT FUNDED POSITION

Victim Witness Assistance Program
$44,538 (Grade 14) + Benefits
Provide direct services to victims of domestic violence. Duties include extensive work in the field with clients, providing crisis intervention, safety planning, referrals, court preparation and advocacy; conducting professional and community education and events and coordinating the objectives and activities of the grant to include collecting statistics and producing reports. Requirements: four-year college degree; one year of experience in a human service delivery program providing direct guidance and case work services; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Preferred qualifications include a four-year college degree in psychology, sociology, criminal justice or social work; 2 years’ experience in the provision of direct services to victims of domestic violence; and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally to include speaking publicly to a variety of community and professional audiences. Additionally, the ability to fluently speak, read and write in English and Spanish is preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and own transportation. Successful completion of a criminal background check required before employment. The ability to work limited evening hours required. This position is grant- funded through December 31, 2021. Continued funding beyond this date is contingent upon availability of grant funds.
