Please take a moment to review https://www.nvcc.edu/police/college-safety/reports.html NOVA's Annual Security ReportsThe Associate Director, Grant & Industry Initiatives is responsible for supervising and managing the College's grant portfolio and leading specific initiatives related to NOVA's business engagement activities in the region and in the Commonwealth. This position is responsible for developing a college-wide grants program strategy with defined metrics. This position provides leadership and guidance for compliance and grants administration functions by working collaboratively with grant program sponsors, project directors, administrators, and appropriate staff to support successful project outcomes. This position will support the division and senior college leadership with developing and maintaining relationships with community stakeholders, including businesses and government agencies. The Associate Director will help regional businesses and local economic developers create and develop talent for current and projected jobs, and will serve as a liaison between the college and the business community. This position will also be responsible for grant-funded projects, responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating, and refining a system of on-going oversight, training, and support related to programmatic compliance in the implementation and management of government-funded and privately funded grants. This position will require frequent local travel at business and industry meetings. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Broad knowledge of principles, practices, and methods of grant administration and grant compliance, including internal control procedures and processes for compliant financial management Strong knowledge of 2 CRF 200 Uniform Guidance Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local laws, policies and regulations related to sponsored programs including but not limited to the Federal Register, departmental regulations, 2 CFR 200 Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards Ability to develop necessary processes and procedures to administer and monitor for compliance and risk a diverse portfolio of private, state, and federal grant projects Ability to develop procedures for record keeping, budget monitoring, and sustaining program features Knowledge of economic development practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including spreadsheets, program data collection and evaluation processes, and professional presentations Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills; expertise in writing and/or editing proposals Ability to supervise a team. Skilled at collaborative leadership. Bachelor's degree in business, higher education administration, public policy, public administration, or related field, or equivalent education and experience. Demonstrated experience in leading, executing and developing workforce capacity projects. Demonstrated experience managing the performance of multiple grant-funded programs and monitoring regulatory compliance. Experience supervising staff. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in business, higher education administration, public policy, public administration, or related field. Holds the Certified Economic Development Professional (CEcD) credential or Project Management Professional (PMP) credential.
